Change of Use

Strong experience of ‘Change of Use’ instructions, supporting planning applications in this regard. This involves proving that an existing use is not financially viable or that a ‘Change of Use’ should be permitted as Local Plan Policy compliant marketing has been undertaken.

  • Supporting changes of use applications for ‘non-trading’ public house houses to be converted to residential

  • Proving that secondary industrial premises are not viable for continuation of commercial use and supporting demolition in proving that redevelopment of standing buildings is not financially viable.

Case Study

Bagot Arms, Erdington

Here I provided support for the application to demolish the substantial redundant and damaged Bagot Arms in Erdington, Birmingham. My involvement proved that conversion of the existing building to apartments was not financially viable, paving the way for demolition and a scheme of 52 much needed new apartments.
